My Skincare Essentials

There's a few things I've been loving using for recent months so I'd thought I'd share them. Although I don't normally have many skin problems (jinxed it now) my skin can get dry if I don't moisturise, both my face and body, so I like to always keep on top of it. Below are the main products that I use on a daily/weekly basis.

(From left to right)
Garnier Skin Naturals Refreshing Toner Start Afresh, 200ml
Soap & Glory Scrub Your Nose In It Special Pore Refining Formula AHA Facial Scrub, 100ml
Nivea Hydro Care Lip Protection with Pure Water & Aloe Vera, 4g
Simple Kind To Skin Purifying Cleansing Lotion, 200ml
Soap & Glory The Righteous Butter Lotion, 500ml
Soap & Glory Flake Away Body Scrub, 300ml
All of these products are available from boots.com

This lotion was actually recommended to me by my best friend a couple of months ago and I'm so glad I bought it! I found that even after using a make up wipe the night before to remove my make up, when I apply this to my face using a cotton pad, it removes the make up that had stuck in my pores and so gives my face a proper cleanse. The consistency is quite thin and so applying with a cotton pad makes it easier to move around all of your face as when I put this on my hands it just slips off! I like this consistency though as it is very light on my face and just sinks in. This is the first thing I use on my face when I start getting ready for the day followed by the toner below.

I stumbled across this when I was at the end of my shift at work (I work in Boots, hence why all the products came from there haha) and saw that it was on offer so thought I would give it a try. As I mentioned, I apply this to my face after using the cleansing lotion with the cotton pad. I love this for the same reasons as mentioned before, it just really refreshes my face and leaves me feeling more awake!

I guess you could argue that this is lip care and not skincare but hey ho - I still love this product. My lips can get quite dry which no one wants and I've tried many, many different lip balms and salves and creams and, again, stumbled upon this when I saw that it was on offer. Also, the word 'hydro' really stood out to me to what I needed. I apply this to my lips many times throughout the day and my lips have not been dry since using this. It's tasteless so you're not tempted to lick your lips, it's colourless so it can be used at all times of the day, it is handy to use out and about as it applies like a lipstick and last but not least, it has a built in SPF 15 meaning that it is perfect for use during the summer for added protection (not that we get much sun in Britain anyway)!

I did get this scrub quite a while ago and as you may or may not be able to tell in the picture, there is still so much left in the tube. I do only use this once or twice a week as using it on a daily basis would not be good for mine or anyone's face as you can remove the natural oils produced by your skin leaving it dry and irritated. When I do use this, I use it before applying a moisturiser or the Simple cleansing lotion to my face. For me personally, I can get oily skin on my t-zone, particularly my nose. By using this scrub a couple of times a week I find that it can reduce the oiliness on my face and remove any make up that is really deep down in my pores. It also smells like mint which is fab.

Ooo pretty
I'm just going to start by saying that this scrub smells amazing, honestly it is sooooo good. So I use this the same amount as the facial scrub, again, do not want to cause any unwanted dryness or irritation to my skin. It really does do what it says on the tub, I don't think I can fault this scrub at all apart from that it may leave grains on your floor! My skin feels so much smoother after using this scrub and sets it up perfectly for using a moisturiser (I use the one below). So ladies, if you're after those silky smooth legs, this is the stuff to use!

As mentioned, I use this lotion on my body after using the scrub, however, I use this a lot more regularly to keep my skin hydrated. I think people often choose this is in the butter form instead of the lotion but I find this has a much smoother, slightly thinner consistency and is easy to use with the pump. Some people prefer using thicker moisturisers but I find it leaves my body feeling sticky for longer and I hate that feeling, especially if it's used in the morning. This stuff also smells amazing!

I hope you enjoyed reading this (my first ever blogpost ahh) but please leave comments below of what you think of these products and if you have your own recommendations - I'd love to know! Thank you!

Hannah :)

P.S. Check out my best friend, Rhianna, singing on YouTube - she has an incredible voice!
